Dear Airline and Branding enthusiasts,

Some of you might have noticed from my Dopplr status (in the sidebar) that I’ve been traveling in India for the past three weeks. I’ve had the opprotunity of meeting a number of senior executives from airlines and airports in Bangalore, Jaipur and Delhi. These included the CEO of SpiceJet, a GM at Kingfisher, ex-VP of Sales for Jet Airways and senior folks from Bangalore and Delhi airports. It’s been a great learning experience for me, and I wish to share it with you, the readers of SimpliFlying.

Hence, I’ve decided to write about Indian aviation and lessons the world can take from the nation’s recent aviation boom and slide. Here are some of the articles and interviews that await you in February.

  • Why Indian carriers will be among the first in the world to recover?
  • International carriers in India (Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Lufthansa…) and branding, and what lies ahead
  • What makes Indigo one of the most successful budget airlines in India?
  • Interview with SpiceJet’s CEO, COO
  • How airlines in India build their brand through dis-organized retail
  • What impact airport infrastructure has on airline brands
  • How marketing to first time fliers is so different from traditional airline marketing

I’m sure you’d enjoy getting some in-depth analysis into the Indian aviation market.  If you haven’t already subscribed to  SimpliFlying, you can subscribe by email or RSS for regular updates.

Happy Flying!
