I've never liked being the one who says,”I told you so”, but having spent 15 years with SWA I can tell you first hand that being innovative is second nature in the culture that we were brought up in. And, in order to replicate I believe that the most important lesson which can be learned is to live by the golden rule- “Treat others only in ways that you're willing to be treated in the same exact situation.”

I have long been a big fan of Southwest Airlines. No body here in the States does it better! And honestly, Shashank a while back told me about how he was stranding by another airline, he then tweeted about it and with in moments, someone from Southwest saw Shashank's tweet and was offer to help in any way they could. You rock Southwest!!!!

You're right. Southwest and social media are a perfect fit. Bit I feel
that legacy airlines will change their culture for social media.

In 12 months, not being on social media will be like Not having a
telephone in 1985 or not having an Internet connection in 1995 or not
having online bookings in 2002.

It's just a matter of time.
