Airports around the world are racing to get on to social media and engage travelers in real time. An infographic we produced with ACI-Europe earlier this year showed that 77% of travelers passed through a social-media enabled airport in Europe. Moreover, a large majority are accessing services while traveling too. This is a huge opportunity for airports to drive everything from customer service to non-aeronautical revenues.
This was this topic I had the opportunity to present on, at World Routes 2012, in Abu Dhabi. With thousands of attendees, it’s the largest aviation event in the world, and we’re happy to share our presentation here. A lot of the case studies featured are from our Airports MasterClass, and more details can be found here. A majority of the statistics are from our first annual Airports Social Media Outlook report to be released this month. Enjoy the presentation, just like those among the audience.
