Most airports began as a place of systems and processes. Getting through an airport was an inevitable chore that was often a need not always driven by a want.
As air travel becomes more accessible, today’s travelers can choose their preferred routes and what airports they would like to transit at. To stay competitive, airports are rapidly transforming to become more than just gateways, aiming to provide the magic before and after a travel adventure. Lifestyle hubs, photo destinations, paradises of duty-free shopping and world-class service leaders are just a few concepts that airports have metamorphosed into.
And it is not a coincidence that like many of the successful airports are heavy users of social media.
This year, SimpliFlying continues its search for the Best Airport in Social Media. Here is a look at our finalists and their great work at bringing customer engagement to greater heights through social media.
