Since SimpliFlying started out, airline branding has evolved to utilize innovative tools in the social media space. And we’ve been at the leading the way, working with airlines all around the world to drive business objectives through these emerging technologies.

Be it in the whirlwind of a crisis or launch of new advertisement, the person leading social media at an airline is often working toward being the primary source of information for customers in the air or on ground. Behind the tweets and blog posts are key individuals who are driving change, like Morgan Johnston at JetBlue or Ali Bullok at Cathay Pacific. A Simpliflying Hero is one of them. Selection criteria

Each month we will feature an individual in the world of aviation whose use of social media has aided the organization he represents. Nominations are open throughout the year, and a new SimpliFlying Hero is announced in the first week of each month. The Hero of the month is selected by the SimpliFlying Associates based on the following selection criteria:

Did the individual:

  • help change the status quo with regards to social media in the organization?
  • bring on-board other team members and senior management before executing?
  • lead by example when it came to interacting with customers?
  • actions result in the organization achieve its business objectives better?
  • demonstrate leadership in the situation?
